New technologies, and new beings, are demanding that educators and support specialists rethinking their responsibilities. If we can argue that a hallmark of new technologies is the breaking down of traditional barriers such as race, class, and gender, then, likewise, technologies are obliging us to collaborate in manners and with people who have traditionally existed at the margins of campus cultures, and thus the hierarchical and ivy-laden obstacles confining higher education are falling as well.
